AGUAS CALIENTES ON THE ROUTE
OF THE KAWESKAR

Looking at a map of the Southern Canals is to transport oneself to a land of dreams and utopias, celebrated sailors, unfortunate explorers, and merciless privateers who confronted the hardships of some of the most extreme latitudes of the planet. Nonetheless, long before the European caravels came to forever occupy this region, a nomadic maritime people, to whom writing was unknown, conquered the confusion and the distances of the seas in this archipelago. The cleverness of the Kaweskar is left in the of the tracks of the passage of the Indians, a people who knew the canals of Patagonia better than the palms of their hands.
